Staples Inc. has signed a lease for a multichannel distribution center in Charlotte, N.C. Scheduled to be operational in the fall of 1999, the center will serve Staples contract, catalog, and e-commerce customers. This addition is part of Staples overall effort to improve service and reduce costs throughout the organization, says Joseph G. Doody, president of Staples Contract and Commercial division.
