    La-Z-Boy has appointed Mike Martinelli as vice president of supply chain for La-Z-Boy Residential. In this newly created position, Martinelli will oversee the areas of purchasing, materials and logistics from the company's headquarters in Monroe, Mich. Most recently, Martinelli served as a consultant for La-Z-Boy working on special projects within the company's supply chain. Prior to joining La-Z-Boy, he was responsible for sourcing and supply chain management at Pilkington, a U.K.-based international glass manufacturer.

    John Miller has been named vice president of purchasing strategy, a newly created position, for Nissan North America Inc. He initially will be located at Nissan's Smyrna, Tenn., assembly plant before moving to Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. headquarters in Japan, where he will work in the purchasing strategy department. Miller has held purchasing positions at Motorola Corp. and Honda of America Manufacturing Inc.

    Union Switch and Signal has a new vice president for manufacturing and supply chain management in Yolande Burnham. She will be responsible for the management of United Switch and Signal manufacturing in Batesburg and Leesville, Pa. She also will oversee the Pittsburgh-based company's global supply chain management. Burnham previously spent more than a year as president of her own consulting firm that specialized in global supply chain management.

    Delphi Corp. named Bill Lloyd director of global supply management, Delphi Europe, effective Sept. 1; Kevin Smith succeeded Lloyd as Delphi's director of machinery/equipment & indirect, global supply management in Troy, effective July 19.

    TNT Logistics has named Jim Krepp as its director of purchasing. In his new role, Krepp will direct the materials purchasing activities of TNT Logistics North America, which include warehouse equipment, trucking assets and general supplies. Krepp joined the company in 1997 and has served as director of managed transportation services the past two years. Prior to TNT, he held purchasing management positions with Ryder System and B.F. Goodrich Chemical.

    James Mandracchia has been named vice president of integrated supply chain for the Raytheon Technical Services Co. business unit in Reston, Va., of Raytheon Co. that provides technical, scientific, engineering, and professional services for governmental and commercial customers. Mandracchia now is responsible for strategic partnerships, subcontracting teaming and the purchasing organization that buys more than $600 million annually in materials and services. In addition, he will help supervise Raytheon's integrated supply chain activities. Previously, he was director of information technology strategy and planning. Prior to joining Raytheon in 2003, Mandracchia was senior vice president of business development and strategy and a founder of Exostar, the aerospace and defense industry's online trading exchange. Earlier, he led Lockheed Martin Corp.'s corporate e-business strategy and development and was the chief engineer of Lockheed Integrated Solutions Co.
