The U.S. Import Price Index declined 2% for the second consecutive month in October, the Labor Departments’ Bureau of Labor Statistics reported in November. The decrease was again led by declining petroleum prices, which fell 8.3% in October following a decrease of 9.7% in September. The October decrease in nonpetroleum prices was led by a 2.7% decline in the price index for nonpetroleum industrial supplies and materials.
