Aaron Dent has been promoted to vice president of supply chain management at Delta Airlines in Atlanta. He reports to Michael Palumbo, executive vice president and chief financial officer for the airline. Dent formerly served as director of supply chain management for Delta. He joined Delta in 2000 as director of strategic sourcing after holding a variety of strategic sourcing positions over a 17-year period with Honda, BMW and John Deere. Dent served as director of supply management for John Deere's Commercial & Consumer Equipment Division prior to joining Delta. He also serves on the board of directors of the National Minority Supplier Development Council and on the board of trustees for the Center for Strategic Supply Leader-ship.
Charles Wardlaw is the new vice president and chief procurement officer at Hercules Inc., a chemical specialties firm in Wilmington, Del. Wardlaw comes to Hercules from his position as vice president of strategic sourcing for Tyco International's fire and security division. Prior to working at Tyco, he was global sourcing director for DuPont Dow Elastomers.
Lennart Olving has been appointed vice president of global supply chain for New Jersey-based healthcare manufacturer Schering-Plough Corp. In his new position, Olving is responsible for the development, implementation and execution of the company's global supply chain and strategic manufacturing plans. In addition, he will oversee the "Right First Time" program, which spans the global pharmaceutical business, global supply chain, global specialty operations and Schering-Plough research institute in order to improve efficiency.
