Appliance manufacturers ex-pect continued demand growth. Latest updated forecast from the National Association of Home Appliances puts 1998 shipments at 54.25 million factory units, an increase of 6% over 1997 (51.12 million). For 1999, aham economists see shipments rising slightly to 54.40 million units.
