For the tenth straight year, AK Steel has earned dual supplier awards from Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America for Superior in Quality and Superior in Delivery for 2003 performance. The awards were presented at Toyota's annual Supplier Business Meeting and Awards Ceremony in Covington, Ky. 'Launching three new North American-built vehicles in the same calendar year was extremely challenging," said Osamu "Simon" Nagata, vice president of purchasing for TMMNA. "Our success in 2003 would have been impossible without the remarkable work of our suppliers."
Arrow Electronics' OEM Computing Solutions division was presented with an award for outstanding performance as a manufacturing and integration partner by Siemens Medical Solutions USA Inc., a division of Siemens AG. The award for Best Practices in Marketing recognizes Arrow for its manufacturing and inventory management expertise, its cost-reduction strategies, its dedication to helping Siemens meet rigid service requirements, and its ability to successfully and efficiently ship orders to Siemens Medical Solutions' customers nationwide.
Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing honored several suppliers for outstanding contributions in 2003 during its annual Supplier Day event. Gold-level award recipients included Komatsu Electronic Metals Co. Ltd., Tokyo Electron Limited, Ebara Corp. and PeopleSoft Asia.
Modine Manufacturing Co. has received the Diamond Supplier Award from International Truck and Engine Corporation for attaining a new level of commitment and dedication to the business. "Modine reached this status by being the cooling systems solutions leader, by bringing new products to market, by committing to continuous improvement, and by delivering products designed to delight the customer," said Ann Farrell, vice president-purchasing, at International.
Tier one automotive industry supplier ArvinMeritor's 2004 Suppliers of the Year are: Buckeye Container, a division of Buckeye Corrugated, Genco Stamping & Manufacturing Co., Heckethorn Manufacturing Co.; Industrial Distribution Group, MultiTech Industries, and Trayer Products.
