Based on continued strong demand in the U.S. and Canada, Navistar International has raised its demand forecast for heavy trucks, medium trucks, and school buses to 415,000 units. In December, the firm had predicted 1999 demand totaling 380,000 units. Revision details: 250,000 heavy trucks, up from an earlier forecast of 224,700; 133,000 medium trucks, up from 124,000; and 32,000 school buses, up from a prior forecast of 31,300 units.
