Praxair makes buys

Praxair Distribution in April acquired Alabama Welding Supply of Dolomite, Ala., Fowler Brothers of Birmingham, Ala., and Service Gas Supply, Inc. of Midlothian, Texas. The acquisitions involve four locations in Alabama and one in Texas. These operations will be integrated into Praxair Distribution's Southern Region. "We continue to execute our strategy of acquiring high quality distribution businesses that fit our portfolio while maintaining our strict return criteria," said George Ristevski, president of Praxair Distribution. Terms of the transactions were not released.
