    Terry Sueltman has been appointed vice president of supply chain

    Terry Sueltman has been appointed vice president of supply chain at Temple-Inland Inc., a manufacturer of corrugated packaging and building products in Austin, Texas. At Temple-Inland, Sueltman, 57, will be responsible for all supply chain activities, including sourcing and logistics. He has three decades of experience in supply chain management, including the last three years at Sonoco Products, where he served as vice president of corporate supply management. Prior to joining Sonoco in July 2001, he served in various positions within Honeywell, most recently as the vice president of global supply chain management. In making the announcement, Kenneth Jastrow, II, chairman and CEO of Temple-Inland, said: "Terry brings to Temple-Inland an extensive background in corporate supply chain management. His knowledge and expertise will be instrumental in implementing Temple-Inland's one-company approach to supply chain management and to fully realize supply chain savings." The company had 2002 revenues of $1.2 billion.

    Harris Corp. has appointed Leon Shivamber

    Harris Corp. has appointed Leon Shivamber to the newly created position of corporate vice president for supply chain management and operations. Shivamber, 43, is set to work with company leadership to develop and implement new procurement and logistics plans expected to deliver new cost reductions while improving Harris' core processes. Shivamber was most recently president of Vertisync, a New York-based supply chain service company that he founded in 2001. From 1996 to 2001, he held senior positions for supply chain management, product management and strategic planning at Arrow Electronics, an $8 billion global distributor of electronic components. Prior to joining Arrow, Shivamber spent 10 years in management consulting with McKinsey and Co. and New York Consulting Partners, where he led supply chain and operations activities for such U.S. and international clients as Colgate Palmolive, Johnson & Johnson, Medsource Technologies, Michelin and Motorola. Harris Corp. is an international communications equipment and systems company based in Melbourne, Fla. The company had sales of $1.9 billion in fiscal 2002. "Leon brings a wealth of business experience to Harris, with a strong background in corporate leadership and management consulting," says Howard Lance, chairman and CEO. "He will provide company-wide leadership in the areas of procurement, logistics and operations strategy and execution."
