Purchasing of new office equipment weakened in the third quarter, dragged down by tightened budgets. The credit crunch has hurt companies' abilities to borrow money to buy new equipment, and many are clamping down on spending. So, analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters recently say office products buyers are pressuring such printers and copiers makers as Xerox, Canon, Ricoh and Hewlett-Packard to reduce market prices.
