Purchasing of high-performance computing (HPC) products will grow to $27.2 billion by 2012, an increase of 46% over $18.6 billion of 2007, forecasts Tabor Research in San Diego. The HPC market includes servers and storage products plus related software. "The health of the HPC industry is strong and appears to be getting stronger," says analyst Addison Snell at Tabor Research, who expects purchasing "to show some immunity to global budget cuts because of its relationship to strategic research and development."
