Tune in to supply management's best minds
Staff -- Purchasing, 2/6/2003 7:00:00 AM
Twice in the past two years, PURCHASING magazine has convened its Editorial Advisory Board for private discussions on best practices and challenges in purchasing and supply chain management. A third meeting of these minds—scheduled to occur in March at Cessna Aircraft in Wichita, Kan.—will be recorded and broadcast during two keynote sessions at PURCHASING's Global Procurement Conference on April 16-17, 2003. (A roster of PURCHASING's Editorial Advisory Board can be found on page 11 of this issue).
The Global Procurement Conference is a two-day virtual meeting that will feature Web presentations (with audio) organized and moderated by PURCHASING's editors. Several sessions will feature live Q&A. There will also be plenty of content, articles from PURCHASING, white papers, and more, available for download.
During the first keynote session, scheduled for 11 a.m. EST on April 16, PURCHASING's Editorial Advisory Board will discuss profit-boosting strategies, specifically: spend management and leverage, moves to center-led organizations, global sourcing, cash management (payment terms, inventory reductions), and performance metrics.
The second keynote session, scheduled for 11 a.m. EST on April 17, will feature a discussion on how leading companies are deploying technology to optimize purchasing and supply chain management and what hot new technologies are being developed for the purchasing and supply management functions.
Other conference sessions will cover buying strategies for MRO, less-than-truckload (LTL) freight, electronics, office supplies and chemicals, plus E-Auction Playbook, what's hot in distribution, and outsourcing procurement.
Access to PURCHASINGS Global Procurement Conference is free. Visit www.purchasing.com for full conference schedule and to register, or go directly to http://pregpc.unisfair.com.
