Wondering if your manufacturing is as lean as it could be? Want to show your customers, suppliers or CFO that you're running the supply chain efficiently? A new certification from a Massachusetts-based consultancy will provide the stamp of approval you may be looking for. R. Michael Donovan and Co. now offers a Lean Manufacturing Certification, which provides a numerical score showing manufacturers just how lean they really are.
"While many companies have applied lean principles to some extent, executives need a focused process to measure how effective their organization has been in adopting and institutionalizing lean principles and specifically what they can do to improve business performance," said consultant and principal Mike Donovan. Manufacturers are evaluated on effectiveness in applying lean principles compared to best practices, how lean capabilities are tied to business objectives, and a prioritized list of actions to best achieve a high-level of manufacturing performance.
