Average total compensation for corporate travel managers is $97,383. That’s 6.9% higher than it was one year ago, according to results of the Travel Management Compensation and Benefits Survey.
The NBTA Foundation, the education and research foundation of the National Business Travel Association (NBTA) conducted the survey of 279 corporate travel managers working in the U.S. and Canada.
“In today’s dynamic business environment, travel managers are on the front lines, delivering cost-savings, driving cost-avoidance, and creating value to help companies meet strategic goals,” says Fay Beauchine, chair of the NBTA Foundation. “Travel management expertise and know-how are more crucial now than ever, and that value is reflected in the growth we have seen in travel managers’ salaries.”
Results of Purchasing’s 27th annual salary survey show compensation for purchasing professionals who source services such as travel earned $104,110 in 2007. That’s more than average annual salary ($84,611) earned by all purchasing professionals last year.
