Aluminum Prices Dip

Expected continuation of sluggish demand in North American markets in 2008 will result in primary ingot averaging $1.05/lb worldwide in 2008, forecasts global metal strategist Jon Bergtheil at J.P. Morgan & Co. offices in London. He expects the world average for 2007 to be $1.21, which is the average of the London Metal Exchange through late October. LME aluminum ingot averaged $1.16 in 2006.
