MSC publishes new safety catalog
2009 version has 20,000 more products

MSC Industrial Direct Co. has released its 2009 safety products catalog.
With more than 800 pages, the new catalog features 40,000 personal and safety-related products.
To expand its product offering, MSC conducted customer research and sought feedback from its strategic suppliers. The result: The Melville, N.Y.-based industrial distributor added 20,000 products targeted at metalworking and manufacturing as well as food processing, aerospace and utilities industries.
“Our close relationships with customers and suppliers allow us to develop and provide an ideal mix of cutting-edge, industry-leading products that meet the safety and compliance needs of each customer,” said Anthony Testa, business manager, MRO product management.
MRO stands for maintenance, repair and operations.
Safety products MSC added to the new catalog include eyewear, clothing, gloves, ergonomic supports, anti-fatigue matting, eyewash/drench showers and spill control products.
The company took the opportunity to introduce the Pro-safe brand which provides customers with safety products that cross several categories.
The catalog features expanded inventories of such brands as 3M, NMC, Kimberly Clark, Sperian and Crews.
At the same time, MSC released an online version of the catalog, with drop-down menus, improved search functions and streamlined product categories.
With $1.69 billion in annual sales, MSC places 12th on Industrial Distribution magazine’s Big 50 list for 2008.
