Need2Buy.com, a business-to-business online marketplace for electronics, joined the RosettaNet consortium as a supply chain partner.
RosettaNet is a global consortium dedicated to the development and deployment of open e-business standards and interfaces, enabling companies in the electronics and information technology industries to conduct electronic business more efficiently.
Need2Buy will work to develop these global standards and interfaces for the entire electronic components supply chain, enabling system-to-system electronic commerce. Need2Buy will also implement these global standards as part of its fully integrated supply chain solution, the Need2Buy Trade Partner(TM) program, which equips OEM buyers, franchised distributors and component manufacturers with tools which significantly improve their existing production planning, channel allocation and order and inventory management processes.
The RosettaNet standards will align the processes and vocabularies of businesses buying and selling electronic components, resulting in reduced costs and increased service levels. RosettaNet's business interface rules are designed to work with existing information systems.
