Canadian telecom giant Nortel has named Jeff Townley as its new chief procurement officer effective immediately, replacing John Haydon, who recently was named vice president and general manager of Nortel’s Network Partner Solutions, Global Services.
Townley will be based in China and will manage all of Nortel’s supplier relationships as well as all of Nortel’s annual purchases. He will report to Joel Hackney, senior vice president, global operations and quality. A 24-year veteran of Nortel, Townley was most recently the leader of Nortel’s Business Transformation Strategic Procurement team.
It was only a year ago that Haydon was named CPO at Nortel, promoted from his spot as vice president for Nortel's Global Supply Chain organization
