LTL carrier Con-way Freight and international logistics provider TNT have established a new day-definite logistics service offering for European shippers sending freight to the U.S.

According to a statement, under the new partnership, TNT will manage cargo pickup in Europe via its trucking network in 33 countries in Europe. TNT will also handle the consolidation, tendering and management of direct intercontinental air cargo service into the U.S. and customs clearance and deconsolidation at TNT’s U.S. gateway at New York’s Kennedy International Airport.
From there, the freight will be expedited into Con-way Freight’s LTL network via its Brooklyn, N.Y. service center for direct-to-door delivery to final destination in any U.S. city.
The partnership is not the first such venture for Con-way Freight. The LTL carrier has a partnership with APL Logistics called Ocean Guaranteed which brings LCL shipments from Asia to any point in the U.S. using Con-way Freight’s LTL network.
