DaimlerChrysler announced that Robert J. Schott has been named vice president-worldwide procurement and supply commodity strategy and Scott R. Garberding has been appointed vice president-worldwide supplier quality and product teams, effective January 1, 2004.
Both executives will report to Peter M. Rosenfeld, executive vice president of the Chrysler Group Procurement and Supply organization.
Schott is a 20-year veteran at Chrysler and has held several positions in the procurement and supply organization, most recently as director of procurement at Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars in Germany. He succeeds Peter Rosenfeld in this new position.
Garberding joined the company in 1993 and has held positions in manufacturing and operations. His last position was plant manager at Detroit Axle in Michigan. Garberding succeeds Stephen M. Walukas, who was recently named vice president-corporate quality.
Connell Purchasing Services, Naperville, Ill., has announced the expansion of its strategic purchasing services team. Steve Heinz has joined the company as vice president, strategic sourcing. He spent 20 years in purchasing at Quaker Oats and eight years as vice president of procurement for Griffith Laboratories. Roger Guerin has been appointed manager, strategic sourcing. He brings eight years of experience working in commodities and food ingredients at ADM.
