IBM Could Buy Sun

The Wall Street Journal in March reported that IBM is interested in buying Sun Microsystems. Dell officials said the speculation has driven more server buyers to Dell. "Just the rumor of IBM potentially purchasing Sun creates an enormous opportunity because all of the Sun accounts are very concerned what will happen to the Solaris platform and Sparc microprocessor," CEO Michael Dell said recently.
