NAPP goes to Disney World

The National Association of Purchasing & Payables (NAPP) holds its 13th annual conference, Innovamation 2005 at Disney's Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World February 6-9.
NAPP is an organization dedicated to providing purchasing and payables professionals with new and innovative ideas for improving both the purchase order and accounts payable functions.
Maureen Merkle, president of procurement, SBC Services, is scheduled to give the keynote address: "Streamlining the Procure-to-Pay Process through Standardization and Automation." Purchasing professionals from American Express are scheduled to lead a session on "Procure-To-Pay: Combining the Global Procurement and Payables Functions: Processes, People and Technology," with other sessions led by representatives of such companies as McKinsey and Co. and the Hackett Group.
Among the break-out sessions on the agenda:

"Supply Chain Optimization," Glen A. Lewis, procurement director, Del Monte Foods.

"Nike's Procurement Metrics Methodology," Sherrie Moomey, procurement manager, Nike.

"The Drive for Strategic Sourcing Excellence," Robert Kane, director, supply chain management, General Dynamics C4 Systems.
Separate forums for purchasing and accounts payables managers will provide opportunities for attendees to network with their peers.
A Procure to Pay Technology & Solutions Fair will feature companies of interest to purchasing and payables professionals.
