"Nuclear energy is becoming an acceptable option again," according to analysts at Haywood Securities in Vancouver, B.C., which reports 440 nuclear power stations are operating worldwide and 30 new nuclear power stations are under construction. Haywood says there are several dozen more in the planning stages—27 planned by China, 31 by India and 25 by Russia.
