Digi-Key and Linear expand deal
Digi-Key and Linear Technology Corp. expanded the companies' distribution agreement from a North American contract to a global contract. The global agreement between Linear Technology and Digi-Key will enable the distributor to fulfill both the prototype and production quantity needs of its customer base.
Avnet expands integration capabilities
Avnet has broken ground on a new integration and logistics facility in Chandler, Ariz. to open by May 2008. The facility will house a state-of-the-art integration center capable of building and shipping approximately 700,000 systems annually and a new warehouse dedicated to integration activities. The new facility will also support the integration and distribution operations of Avnet's recently acquired Access Distribution business.
Arrow gets security certification
Arrow Electronics has received certification on the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) from the Customs and Border Protection division of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. C-TPAT is a voluntary government/business initiative to build cooperative relationships that strengthen and improve the international supply chain and U.S. border security. Wayne Brody, vice president, assistant secretary and chief compliance officer at Arrow said, "Our customers and suppliers will benefit from our participation with a more secure and efficient supply chain, enabling for faster product delivery with reduced border delays and expedited processing for inspections of their packages."
