ClickOnStock.com, a Web search engine for electronic component buyers, has introduced a new service it says will combat the growing counterfeit component problem in the electronics supply chain.
Through a screening process and by allowing only authorized and franchised distributors to list their component inventories on the site, the service eliminates the hazards associated with buying electronic components, according to the company.
When queried, ClickOnStock.com performs a live search of more than 25 franchised/authorized distributors' inventory. Features include leadtimes, pricing, datasheets for parts and options to search/find authorized distributors and factory reps by manufacturer. The site also offers links directly to the authorized distributors for purchase transactions.
The search includes distributors for high volume inventory as well as catalog distributors for prototype needs from manufacturers worldwide including the U.S., Europe and Asia. ClickOnStock.com does not share in any of the business conducted between users of the search engine and distributors.
“Our sole focus is to increase profits and productivity for our customers by providing them with a fast and effective way to reach qualified component distributors, while reducing the expense of counterfeit or substandard products,” says Sara Manii, chief marketing officer of ClickOnStock.com.
