In mid-March the U.S. Treasury Department announced the U.S. automotive supply base will receive $5 billion in Federal assistance funding in an effort to keep the U.S. automotive supply chain running on all cylinders. Under the Auto Supplier Support Program, suppliers will be granted access to government-backed protection that money owed to them for the products they ship will be paid no matter what happens to the buying company.
