Aerospace and defense industry marketplace Exostar recently appointed Judy Northup to its board of directors. Northup is vice president and chief administrative officer for Vought Aircraft Industries where she heads the materials, human resources, government and industry relations and corporate communications functions. Her 25-year career with Vought has included various positions within finance, supply chain management and human resources. In 1997 she was appointed vice president of materials for Northrop Grumman's commercial aircraft division and in 1999 she was named sector vice president of material for Northrop Grumman's integrated systems and aerostructures sector. Northup has also held leadership roles in the Aerospace Industries Association's Supplier Management Council since 2000, which includes some 150 associate member companies in the aerospace and defense industry.
Building products maker Gibraltar recently named John Wagner as its new vice president of supply chain management. In his new role, Wagner will coordinate all of Gibraltar's corporate purchasing and transportation activities, with the goals of reducing costs, improving efficiencies, and strengthening the relationships with all of its key suppliers. Wagner comes to Gibraltar from United Technology's Carrier Division in Indianapolis where he was director of supply chain management for Carrier's North American Residential business unit.
Textron announced that Peter Riley has been promoted to senior vice president of Six Sigma, integrated supply chain and transportation. He will continue to serve as a member of the company's transformation leadership team, which is comprised of the corporation's top 21 executives. Riley most recently was Textron's vice president of integrated supply chain, a post he assumed in 2003.
Lowe's has promoted Mike Mabry to executive vice president of logistics and distribution. In the new role, Mabry will oversee Lowe's distribution network and logistics operations. Mabry joined Lowe's as senior vice president of distribution in 2003 after a 12-year career with Wal-Mart Stores, where he was vice president of global services.
Kevin Barry has been appointed to vice president of global supply chain management at VeriFone, the provider of electronic payment solutions. He will be responsible for demand planning, supply base management, contract manufacturing, fulfillment centers, logistics and manufacturing engineering operations. Most recently, Barry worked as senior supply management positions for electronic manufacturing services provider Solectron.
Ford Motor's Tony Brown has been bumped up a level to senior vice president, global purchasing from his prior post as vice president of purchasing. Ford says the promotion reflects the scope and complexity of the functions Brown leads.
Jayne Shaults has been promoted to purchasing manager of Stainless Sales, a metal service center in Chicago. In her new position, she is responsible for purchasing the stainless steel and other metals inventoried by the firm, and will supervise supplier selection and supplier performance tracking. Shaults joined Stainless Sales in 2003 as project manager. Prior to joining Stainless Sales, she was project coordinator at American Stair in Romeoville, Ill.
AK Steel has named Anthony Perry to the new post of director of purchasing. Perry joined the Middletown, Ohio, firm in June as manager of cokemaking for the main steel works following 34 years of service with U.S. Steel In his new post, Perry will report to John Kaloski, vice president of operations. In addition to corporate and plant-level purchasing experience, Perry has management experience in operations, environmental controls and maintenance.
Universal Automotive Industries has appointed Lisa Kusluski to the newly created position of director of supply chain. Kusluski will oversee the company's purchasing department, among other responsibilities and will report directly to Phil Zettel, vice president of supply chain and operations. "Building an experienced and professional supply chain management team will help improve profitability and is a key component of our integration process," Zettel said in a company statement. Prior to joining Universal, Kusluski worked for Delphi Product & Service Solutions, most recently as a buyer in its automotive aftermarket division, and earlier, as a supply chain analyst and customer service coordinator.
Building products maker Louisiana-Pacific has named Brian Luoma as its vice president of procurement, logistics and supply management. Luoma replaces Jeffrey Wagner, who was recently promoted to vice president of Louisiana-Pacific's oriented strand board division. Luoma joined the company in 1987 and was most recently LP's director of forest resources.
Digital projector company InFocus has hired former Apple Computer executive Joe O'Sullivan as its vice president of global supply chain management. O'Sullivan will run the company's global supply chain initiative. O'Sullivan joined Apple in 1988 and held various executive positions over the course of 13 years in Ireland, Japan, California and Singapore.
Fluid handling technology firm IDEX has named Thomas Giordano to the newly created position of vice president of supply chain and logistics for the corporation. Giordano brings to IDEX more than 25 years of experience, most recently as president of Fortune Enterprises, a supply chain services firm focused on strategic sourcing and the development and management of suppliers in emerging geographies.
