Housing Data Builds

Three major housing indicators trended up in February, fueling speculation that the housing market may be on its way out of the trench.

The U.S. Commerce Department said that privately owned housing starts in February were 22.2% higher than in January.
National Association of Realtors (NAR) reports that sales of existing homes rose 5.1% in February as consumers took advantage of low prices.
February new home sales rose an unexpected 4.7% in February after a dismal January.
