  • FedEx launches new service in Asia

New offering targets medium-size and small businesses in Asia

By Dave Hannon -- Purchasing, 1/10/2008 5:05:00 PM

FedEx is targeting service levels between its International Priority and domestic mail service in Asia by offering a new service called FedEx International Economy in the Asia Pacific market.

According to a company statement, the new service is an “economical, day-definite, customs-cleared, door-to-door service” that features intra-Asia transit times typically one to two days longer than its premium service, FedEx International Priority.

FedEx officials also said they are targeting small to medium-size businesses in the Asian market with this service. It is currently offered in 10 Asian-Pacific nations including mainland China with three more regions expected to be up and running in March.
Purchasing's January issue will include a deep-dive on the current small parcel market offerings in Asia.
