Air Products has named Laurie K. Stewart vice president, energy and materials effective March 1.
Her predecessor, Patricia (Pam) Mattimore becomes vice president and general manager, Performance Materials, also effective in March.
Mattimore will have oversight responsibility for global operations of the Performance Materials division. She joined Air Products in 1982 as a participant in the company’s Career Development Program and held positions in applied research and development, standard plants, and sales and major accounts management. She has served as president, Air Products Electronic Chemicals.
Speaking of her organization in a story in the October 2008 issue of Purchasing, Air Products takes fresh look at sourcing, Mattimore said, “I know we are adding significant value when we are being asked to add more strategic supply management personnel…We’ve made great strides in our acceptance across the company. Our organization is being pulled, not pushed.”
As vice president, energy and materials, Stewart will be responsible for managing all aspects of global procurement and strategic sourcing efforts, which includes energy, capital, corporate and raw materials. She also will manage the Corporate Real Estate and General Services organizations. Stewart joined Air Products in 2003 as vice president and treasurer. She was named vice president and controller of Tonnage Gases, Equipment and Energy and most recently served as vice president of Global Decision Support. Prior to joining Air Products, Stewart held financial positions at Marathon Oil Co. and Pennzoil-Quaker State Co.
