To help office buyers select the right equipment for their operations, Gartner has published a report, "Magic Quadrant for MFPs and Printers." More than 138 million printers, copiers, MFPs were purchased in 2007, which represents almost $60 billion in spending, according to the Stamford, Conn.-based research company. The report evaluates the changing market and identifies technology companies that provide MFP and printer products and services.
The Staples store in Miami, Fla. is the first store in Miami-Dade county and in the company's chain to be awarded gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). LEED is a voluntary independent green building rating system and is the recognized standard for measuring building sustainabiilty.
The National Association for Female Executives has honored Office Depot as a "top company dedicated to the advancement of women." This is the fifth consecutive year the global provider of office products and services has received the honor. NAFE's mission is to encourage advancement of women by honoring companies that champion female professionals in the workplace. The organization recognized Office Depot for its commitment to its own associates and for consistently listening to its customers, many of whom are women.
