Dow Chemical has declared force majeure on deliveries of vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) due to essential maintenance of critical plant equipment required at the Texas City, Texas, plant of subsidiary Union Carbide. And, effective on September 3 and likely through the end of October, Dow will allocate available product to customers.
