Consumers confident

As of press time, gasoline prices appear to be taking a major toll on consumers' attitudes according to a Conference Board survey. The business research group says its April measure of consumer confidence rose to the highest level in nearly four years due largely to a healthy jobs market. But if gas prices remain at their current nosebleed levels, consumers' moods could soon sour, survey conductor Lynn Franco notes.
