RAD acquires RPM
RAD Electronics, a Sun Valley, Calif.-based electronics contract manufacturer, has acquired RPM Technology, a full-service contract manufacturer based in Fort Collins, Colo.
RPM builds printed circuit boards for semiconductor, medical, instrumentation and industrial control industries. RPM will continue to operate in Fort Collins.
RAD has three manufacturing locations including a cable assembly operation in Mexico. It builds boards, cable assemblies and molded embedded electronics for the medical, military-aerospace and industrial electronics industries.
Mouser stocks Emerson Connectors
Mouser Electronics in Mansfield, Texas is now stocking the Johnson line of SMP blind-mate connectors from Emerson Network Power Connectivity Solutions.
Providing flexibility, the connectors can correct axial and radial misalignment and are compatible with all SMP and GPO connectors.
The SMP blind-mate connectors can handle frequencies up to 40GHz and are available in several different configurations to meet the needs of high-frequency applications. The offering includes full and limited detent snap-on interfaces, as well as smooth bore and catcher's mitt slide-on interfaces which provide different levels of engage and disengage coupling force.
Digi-Key inks deal with Cynergy3
Digi-Key will carry Cynergy3 Components' line of reed relays and sensors under a new distribution agreement.
Cynergy3, based in San Diego, manufactures high voltage and radio frequency reed relays and liquid level/flow sensors. Cynergy3 reed relays are used in electro medical, test, HV power supplies, and HF radio systems. Applications for reed-based liquid level sensors include washing systems, high-speed printing, vending, air conditioning, and water treatment plants.
Digi-Key is based in Thief River Falls, Minn.
Allied signs Quest
Allied Electronics has signed an agreement to distribute Quest Technology's new LightStar fiber optic products.
Allied is the exclusive catalog distributor of Quest's entire LightStar product line, which features new epoxyless field-terminated fiber optic connectors featuring patented impact mount technology. LightStar Technology eliminates epoxy and offers additional advantages such as quick and easy termination and superior performance even at high temperatures.
"Allied customers can now benefit from our expanded offering of innovative fiber optic solutions," says Scott McLendon, vice president of marketing at Allied, based in Fort Worth, Texas.
