Date set for 10th Annual Indirect-MRO Group Conference

Purchasing pros with responsibility for buying indirect and MRO goods and services top the agenda of the 10th Annual Indirect-MRO Group Conference planned for Sept. 24-25 at the Wyndham Hotel (Magnificent Mile) in Chicago. The Indirect-MRO Group is an affiliate of the Institute for Supply Management. MRO stands for maintenance, repair and operations.
Conference chair Joel Thomas is finalizing the agenda. To date, he’s scheduled the following speakers:
·Bob Calvez, global commodity manager—MRO, United Technologies Corp., recipient of Purchasing’s Medal of Professional Excellence for 2007.
·Mike Filliti, senior buyer—MRO for e-spend & process, Alliant Energy Corporate Services, and a member of Purchasing’s All-Star MRO buy team for 2007.
·Tim Underhill, president, Strategic Business Solutions.
Thomas has also scheduled speakers for pre- and post-conference workshops. Ross Darrah, CEO, Management Toolbox, is conducting a workshop on Sept. 23, while Joe Rice of Benedict Negotiating Seminars will lead one on Sept. 26. Both speakers will also conduct sessions during the conference.
As at other Indirect-MRO Group conferences, there will be ample time for networking with colleagues. More than 200 purchasing professionals attended the conference last year.
