Railroad Kansas City Southern said it is experiencing significant track flooding in certain regions and had issued embargoes.
In a statement on its web site yesterday, KCS said it was cancelling embargos for the Beaumont, Texas station, as well as stations from Corpus Christi to Laredo, Texas. But embargos remain in effect for Port Arthur and Port Neches, Texas stations until further assessments can be made.
According to the Associated Press, KCS’ service into Mexico, which operates on Union Pacific tracks, has been interrupted since late last week. Kansas City Southern expects the service to reopen in the middle of this week.
