Top 75 Electronics Distributors: 2006 North American Rankings

Click here for Top 75 electronics distributors The top 75 electronics distributors grew North American sales by about 9% in 2006, but some distributors did better than others. For instance, Nu Horizons of Melville, N.Y., grew revenue 39.2% as its sales reached $554 million. Other distributors that posted more than 30% revenue growth over 2005 include Wise Components, which grew revenue 38.1% to $14.5 million; Mouser, which boosted sales 33.3% to $184 million and Simple Technologies, with 32.1% growth as sales increased to $7.7 million. Avnet and Arrow dominated semiconductor sales in 2006. Avnet’s semiconductor revenue totaled $4 billion and Arrow had nearly $3.6 billion in chip sales, which accounted for 58% of Arrow’s total revenue. Arrow was the leader in passives and electromechanical sales. It sold $1.16 billion of passives and electromechanical devices. Passives and connector specialist TTI was second with $469 million of passives/electromechanical revenue. Avnet was the top connector distributor with $360 million in interconnect revenue in 2006.
