  • Thermo Fisher buys logistics firm Priority Solutions

Acquisition of New Jersey 3PL expands firm’s logistics outsourcing services

By Dave Hannon -- Purchasing, 10/4/2007 2:05:00 PM

Scientific instrumentation maker Thermo Fisher Scientific has acquired New Jersey-based third party logistics (3PL) provider Priority Solutions International from private equity firm Arsenal Capital.
Arsenal acquired Priority Air Express in 2004, merging Priority Air with its primary competitor Distribution Solutions International in 2005 to form Priority Solutions International. The pharma-focused 3PL will be integrated into Thermo Fisher’s biopharma services business, which provided logistics outsourcing, among other services, to customers.

"This acquisition brings tremendous logistics expertise and an infrastructure to our existing outsourcing services that strengthens our ability to deliver pharmaceutical supplies,” said Marijn Dekkers, president and CEO of Waltham, Mass.-basedThermo Fisher Scientific in a statement.
