What's new at the AIIM/On Demand show

Canon U.S.A. and Toshiba America Business Solutions (TABS) were among the manufacturers on hand at the AIIM/On Demand show in Philadelphia recently introducing new products.
Canon launched a number of new imagePROGRAF large-format printers, and DR Scanner systems, as well as several new imageWARE software products. The imagePROGRAF W8400 and W6400 printers include Canon's proprietary print head technology, which enables high-speed printing at 2,400 x 1,200 dpi with precise four-picoliter ink droplets for high-image resolution, clarity and detail. Both printers come with a suite of software, including PosterArtist, Digital Photo Print Pro as well as an Adobe Postscript 3 software RIP.
Canon also previewed the DR-2050C, a sleek, compact digital document scanner that scans letter-size documents in black-and-white or grayscale at speeds of up to 20 pages-per-minute (ppm) simplex/40 images-per-minute (ipm) duplex at 200 dpi and 24-bit color, as well as up to 10 ppm (simplex)/20 imp (duplex) at 150 dpi.
imageWARE ScanManager 4.0 is production-level image-capture software designed for high-volume batch-capture workflow. Documents can be automatically indexed using zone Optical Character Recognition (OCR), or by using SCAN Manager's pre-indexing, post-indexing and input-masking functions. imageWARE Document Manager 4.0 is a storage and retrieval system, designed to provide a centralized method by which information is shared across an organization via integrated scan, fax, print, and e-mail. For its part, TABS displayed the capabilities of its range of products, including the e-STUDIO 850 and e-STUDIO451c. The company also demonstrated eCopy's ScanStation with ShareScan OP in conjunction with the e-STUDIO451c and e-STUDIO1050 in the booth.
The Toshiba e-STUDIO850 MFP has a print speed of 85 ppm, 2,400 x 600 dpi, a dual laser-beam design and a first-copy-out time of less than 3.5 seconds. The unit scans at 71 scans-per-minute at 600 dpi when copying, and 83 scans-per-minute at 300 dpi when scanning to file.
The e-STUDIO451c color MFP offers complete integration of copy, print, fax, and scan capabilities, and features a 600 MHz processor, a memory capacity of up to 786 MB, second generation e-BRIDGE architecture, and advanced security. It produces a brisk rate of 45 monochrome printed or copied ppm with black-and-white printing resolution of 2,400 dpi x 600 dpi. It produces color documents at a rate of 11 ppm with a matte-color finish.
TABS, as part of the eCopy Ready Manufacturers Program provides its e-STUDIO digital copier users with the option to use eCOPY's Open Platform software, which integrates with more than 20 enterprise software applications, including EMC Documentum Enterprise Content Management Platform, Captaris RightFax and Microsoft Outlook. With eCopy software, In addition to copying, printing, scanning, and faxing, e-STUDIO users can easily scan documents directly to their enterprise content management (ECM) systems, fax server or e-mail system.
