Saudi Aramco plans to expand its activities of refining crude oil and the manufacturing value-added petrochemicals products, according to reports posted online. The Saudi Arabian-based company aims to maintain its production capacity at a maximum of 12 million barrel/day by early 2009. Petrochemical joint venture projects are being planned in China, Korea, U.S., Philippines, Japan and Saudi Arabia. The goal of all this commissioning is to catapult Saudi Aramco as one of the top global manufacturers of polyolefins.
