In the May 6 issue of PURCHASING, Jim Morgan, editorial director emeritus, writes about the changing relationship between buyers and sellers for the magazine's annual look at the distribution industry. In it, he writes about purchasing's perception of the performance of distributor suppliers: Sixty-eight percent of readers are satisfied with their distributor relationships. At Kellogg Co., the purchasing operation recently affirmed its satisfaction with distributor Precision Industries: Kellogg extended an integrated supply agreement with Precision Industries for 15 locations through 2007. Mary Enos, a buyer with Kellogg's MRO Headquarters Procurement, talks about the relationship with Precision as well as the distributor's relationship with manufacturer supplier 3M during the "MRO Sourcing Strategy: Increasing Uptime, Improving the Bottom Line" session at Purchasing's Global Procurement Conference. To listen to what Mary-and Chris Circo, president and COO of Precision Industries—has to say about Kellogg's agreement, go to: www.globalprocurement.purchasing.com.
