Supply management award goes to Nelson

Dave Nelson of Delphi Automotive and two-time winner of the Purchasing Medal of Professional Excellence was named winner of ISM’s J. Shipman Gold Medal Award. Nelson was presented with the award at a special banquet at ISM’s 91st annual conferfence.
Nelson, a member of the Purchasing Editorial Advisory Board was called by master of ceremonies Thomas Slaight a supply management icon. Slaight referred to Nelson’s many contributions to the profession over a 48-year career. The co-author of three different books on purchasing, Nelson has been a member of 20 different purchasing organizations. He is a past chairman of the ISM board of directors.
John Deere and Honda won the Purchasing Medal of Excellence under Nelson’s purchasing leadership.
