Roskill report says aluminum production to drop 5%

World aluminum production is likely to decline for the first time in 15 years as much as 5%, suggests research firm Roskill Information Services of London. In the U.S., Aleris plans to idle its Coldwater, Mich., plant as well as other, secondary aluminum alloy plants as more automakers shut or idle manufacturing plants this summer.
