Univar sells off Performance Polymers business to Ravago
Chemical distributor says division didn't fit with growth strategy

Chemical distribution giant Univar this
week sold off its performance polymers business to Ravago, a Belgian company
involved in manufacturing and distribution of raw materials, including
plastics.
Univar acquired the PPI business through its acquisition of
Ellis & Everard in 2001. According to a Univar statement, Univar decided to sell Leominister,
Mass.-based PPI to Ravago because it "no longer fit with Univar's growth
strategy in North America."
Ravago's Entec Polymers division will absorb the PPI sales
force and go forward business stream of customers and suppliers.
