Non-asset based logistics service provider Landstar System this week said it has acquired two supply chain software firms in a move to bolster Landstar's technology and service offerings.
Landstar's deal to acquire Premier Logistics will provide the 3PL with Web-based bidding, scheduling, shipping, tracking and reporting, allowing real-time visibility on inbound and outbound shipments from pickup to destination. Premier has two operating subsidiaries, National Logistics Management and Interactive Capacity Gateway.
Landstar's other buy announced this week is A3 Integration, whose solution offers shipment optimization, carrier visibility and supply chain event management.
Both companies will operate as separate subsidiaries of Landstar Supply Chain Solutions, Inc., a newly-formed Landstar company. Financial terms of the deals were not released.
