Egencia introduces meeting booking tool
Travel management company also rebrands acquisition

Egencia Meetings & Incentives, the meetings and incentives management division of Egencia, has introduced an online booking tool for meetings and events.
The company also is rebranding the meetings and incentives agency Reward Worldwide it acquired with its purchase of Synergi Global Travel Management, a Canadian-based travel management company, in June 2008. Reward Worldwide now is known as Egencia Meetings & Incentives.
Egencia is a travel management company based in Bellevue, Wash.
Capabilities of the new tool consist of online registration, attendee management, travel booking and reporting. Access through Egencia's online tool for booking transient travel makes it easier for users to make reservations for travel to meetings and events. The tool also provides travel buyers with spend data they can consolidate with data from transient travel and use in negotiations with suppliers.
"Everyone is looking at ways to save money," Debbie Grossi, director of Egencia Meetings & Incentives North America, said in an interview with Purchasing.com. "Companies consolidated spending on travel a few years ago. But spending on meetings is still a renegade area."
The company Egencia Meetings & Incentives provides support for small meetings, large and complex corporate events and incentive trips. It sports an in-house negotiation team.
