Initial jobless claims fall again
First-time jobless claims four-week moving average down too. Ongoing claims rise

Fewer people filed initial jobless claims during the week of July 4 than the previous week, the U.S. Labor Department announced. The seasonally adjusted figure was 565,000 claims, 52,000 lower than the week ending June 27. Labor also reported that the four-week moving average for initial jobless claims had dropped 10,000 from the previous week's revised average.
Among states with decreases in claims of more than 1000 were Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania, California, Tennessee, Oregon, Maryland, Georgia, Lousiana and Wisconsin.
Connecticut, North Carolina and New York headed the list of states with an increase of more 1000 initial claims.
