Dupont plans to invest more than $120 million to boost its capacity to produce photovoltaic solar panels. DuPont forecasts more than $1 billion in annual sales of photovoltaic solar panels, which create electricity from sunlight, by 2012. The capacity expansion will key on raw materials for its Tedlar-brand polyvinyl fluoride product line. Tedlar films, which block out moisture and ultraviolet light, are used as backsheets in photovoltaic modules.
