The massive earthquake in Indonesia has apparently not affected tin-producing regions or supply in the area, according to PT Timah, the world's second-largest tin producer based in Pangkalpinang, Indonesia. Indonesia is the world's largest exporter of tin with most of the metal being mined in Bangka-Belitung, a group of islands off eastern Sumatra that weren't hit by the quake.
