Stallkamp tapped as president

Tom Stallkamp this month will take over as Chrysler Corp.'s new president, making the former procurement and supply chief heir apparent to the automaker's top job.

A 17-year company veteran, Stallkamp is credited with cutting billions of dollars from Chrysler's product-development and supply costs. He is also responsible for turning Chrysler's procurement and supply into a strategic function as well as integrating suppliers into the company's design and production operations.
